“This is large work that I have called you into, but don’t be overwhelmed by it.
It’s best to start small. You won’t lose out on a thing.”
Matthew 10: 41-42
Dear Middle School Families,
It is a true blessing to be here at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School where we educate the whole child. I am Mr. Castillo and this is my ninth year of teaching elementary and middle school. I taught in both public and private schools respectively. I was blessed to teach Kindergarten-6th grade and served as a Dean of Discipline and Assistant Principal respectively. In 2013, I was blessed and acknowledged with an award presented by the California State Senate in Teaching. I look forward to bringing my experience, my passion, my enthusiasm about science and my love of Christ to my students.
I hold the following college credentials:
- Associate of Arts
Antelope Valley College
Letters, Arts and Sciences with a Concentration in Child Development
- Bachelor of Arts
California State University, Northridge
Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Multicultural Education
- Master of Arts
Loyola Marymount University
Elementary Education with a Concentration on K-8 Credential
In addition to teaching here at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, I am an Adjunct Professor at Southern Indian Polytechnic Institute “SIPI” where I teach Language, Literacy and Reading to undergraduate students pursuing their degree in Education.
I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility. I will do my best this year to ensure that each student has a motivating and safe learning experience in my classroom. However, I cannot do this alone, I need your help! You and I need to be partners in the learning process.
If you have any comments, questions or concerns, please send me a note using my email that was provided in my syllabus or Pass-a-Note on Sycamore.
Finally, I look forward to this rewarding year being your child’s second grade teacher. Be assured of my prayers for you and yours.
