Welcome to the Third Grade Classroom at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School. My name is Dolores Trujillo. I feel blessed to be part of the OLF Faculty. I have been teaching for more twenty-five years, much of that time in Catholic school. I truly enjoy teaching children in a faith-filled environment where Christ is at the center of all we do. Over the years, I have taught a variety of grade levels and hundreds of students, but my favorite grade is third grade.
Third grade is a year filled with spiritual and academic growth. It is the beginning of so many new experiences such as First Reconciliation and First Communion, learning to write in cursive, mastering multiplication and division facts, focusing on reading to learn in addition to learning to read, and taking standardized tests, just to name a few.
Developing organizational skills and taking personal responsibility are very important goals to work toward in third grade. I teach, model, and encourage these important skills for my students. Each student is responsible for completing his or her assignments, turning in homework, following school and classroom rules and being a good Christian example. These are invaluable life skills that will help our children
I am an Albuquerque native and a product of the Catholic school system. I am a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Elementary and Reading Education. I hold a Level III teaching license from the State of New Mexico and I have 20+ years of teaching experience.
I am the proud parent of three sons who graduated from Our Lady of Fatima and St. Pius X High.
I have taught many grade levels, but my first love is 3rd grade. It is my desire as an educator to help my students meet their greatest potential intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. I look forward to getting to know my students and their families as we work together to achieve these goals.
