Pre-K

The Pre-K curriculum is based on the standards given to all Catholic schools by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and the New Mexico Pre-K Invest a Little Get a Lot Learning Outcomes.  The curriculum includes Religion, Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science.  All of these subjects are centered on the most important goal of Pre-K: learning how to socialize appropriately with peers.  These sensational 4 and 5 year olds are working, in Religion, to understand their relationship with God.  In Literacy, they are working on identifying the letters (both upper and lower case) of the alphabet, their sounds, and even some sight words!  In Math, they are focusing on identifying numbers and being introduced to basic sorting, graphing, and addition and subtraction skills.  They are learning about their role in their family and school communities in Social Studies and in Science, they are doing some fun activities to explore the world around them.  The students learn all of the above and much more through teacher and student directed lessons.  Some activities are completed as a whole class, some individually, and others in small groups.  As mentioned above, all the above activities are created to not only meet the Pre-K Catholic School and State Standards, but to create good, kind people in these 4 and 5 year olds I am blessed to work with.

If you are interested in giving your child a boost into the world of learning and preparation for school, come check out the wonderful teaching and learning Pre-K program here at Our Lady of Fatima (call the school office for details: 255-6391).
